Compensation: Based on experience and profile

ADLIN Science is a mission‑driven company aiming to become a key player in the rise of precision medicine by empowering public scientific research through data. By providing a platform that facilitates the generation of high‑quality, interoperable data, ADLIN enables biologists, bioinformaticians, and mathematicians to collaborate more efficiently within multidisciplinary teams—maximizing both scientific and economic value from their data.

To achieve this, we are looking for bold, passionate individuals who share our vision.

🎯 Context & Objectives

As an experienced Data Engineer, you will join a growing data team to structure and consolidate pipelines integrating heterogeneous and large-scale clinical and omic datasets. As a key contributor on perimeters still being defined, you will help lay the technical foundations of a high-impact scientific platform, ensuring traceability, compliance and interoperability with healthcare and research industry standards.

🧠 Main Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain robust, traceable data pipelines (data lineage), integrating transcriptomic and clinical data.

  • Define and enforce data governance standards: cataloging, quality, security, compliance (GDPR, HIPAA…).

  • Play a key role in data systems architecture — a structuring topic still taking shape — integrating the constraints of the healthcare and research sector, and acting as the interface between technical and data teams to ensure data integration within a governed and interoperable framework.

  • Set up monitoring, documentation and data flow visualization tools.

Profil recherché

🧰 Required Skills

Technical

  • Proficiency in open source data engineering tools: Airflow / Dagster, Spark, dbt, Polars / Pandas, DuckDB, Kafka, etc.

  • Experience in distributed computing and large-scale scientific processing, particularly in batch mode (HPC environments, Slurm a plus).

  • Experience in on-premise environments.

  • Experience with data lineage and governance solutions (OpenMetadata, DataHub, Collibra…).

  • Strong knowledge of databases (OLTP, OLAP), modern data architectures (Data Lake, Data Mesh…), Python and associated development best practices (CI/CD, Git).

  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Scaleway or equivalent).

    Nice to have

  • Experience processing and integrating multi-omics data (RNA-seq, gene expression, imaging) and clinical data, including proficiency with large-scale scientific formats (Parquet, HDF5, Zarr…).

  • Interest in semantic web technologies.

  • Experience with real-time data stream processing (Spark Streaming, Kafka).

  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks (CNIL, HDS…) & experience in a regulated or highly standardized environment (healthcare, pharma, research…).

  • Familiarity with health data standards (OMOP, FHIR, BEACON).

Functional

  • Autonomy and decision-making: you know how to scope your work and move forward even when things are not fully defined.

  • Proactive mindset and critical thinking.

  • Comfortable in dynamic, evolving environments: you thrive when processes are still being shaped.

  • Open and constructive communication: you can break down technical concepts for non-technical audiences, share knowledge freely and foster collaborative dialogue.

🎓 Profile

  • Engineering degree or Master's in computer science or data engineering.

  • Significant experience (5 to 7 years) in data engineering.

  • Experience in the healthcare or biotech sector is a plus, as is experience in a fast-moving organization.

💡 Don't meet every requirement? That's completely fine. This role calls for solid technical experience and a genuine curiosity to explore. If both resonate with you, we encourage you to apply.
